Volume Lift shows the Chrome tabs that are playing audio and lets you adjust the playback volume of tabs you choose to control. The extension runs locally in your browser.

Information the extension handles
While the popup is open, the extension reads the title, website hostname, and audible state of tabs to build the mixer. It displays tabs that Chrome reports as audible and tabs already under Volume Lift control. These details are not saved or transmitted. The title and hostname of a controlled tab remain in browser memory while its capture is active.
When you click the Volume Lift toolbar icon on a playing tab, Chrome gives Volume Lift access to capture that tab's audio. The extension starts its volume control automatically, processes the stream in memory, and plays it through your device. The stream is not recorded, saved, or sent to the developer or any third party. Processing stops when you click Stop or Stop all, close the tab, or Chrome ends the capture.
This version does not save settings or browsing data. An earlier version may have saved a preferred volume percentage in Chrome's local extension storage; this version does not read or use that value.
Your control
Audio capture begins when you click the Volume Lift toolbar icon on a playing tab. Chrome requires you to invoke Volume Lift on each tab before its audio can be captured. Use Stop or Stop all to end capture and restore direct tab playback. You can remove the extension from Chrome at any time.
